IV Congress of "European Youth of Ukraine" in Kiev: reformed statute and all governing bodies elected
First time in 4-year history of cooperation between EYU and LYMEC, bureau member of the Liberal Youth of Europe - Jeroen Dipemat came with official visit to Ukraine:"I’m glad to be a witness of such a great events in the life of Ukrainian liberal youth organization. I appreciate your desire for self-development and efforts to meet the LYMEC standards.» Ksenia Shvedova - an individual member of LYMEC from Belarus joined to this visit:"I’m glad that your organization is developing and this event is a great example, I wish all of you a productive work and success for candidates." IV Congress of "European Youth of Ukraine" also brought together representatives from the most regional centers branches of organization: Luhansk,Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Kherson, Kyiv, and Zaporizhia. This year activists meeting had primarily two goals: re-election of governing bodies and changes in "European youth of Ukraine" statute. As a result, a great discussion about necessity of changes in statute for the liberalization and decentralization of power in organization finally was accepted by an absolute majority. Elections became tense moment for all candidates. Notably that in European Youth of Ukraineit is not the first time when there is a real competition for the post of chairman of the organization. But the first time in its history when there were three candidates: the current chairman Vitaly Ilyashenko, his younger, but very stubborn and ideological competitor Stanislav Zozulia ( from September 2011, At. Deputy Chairman) and last two years reliableright hand to Vitaly - Denis Sviridenko. 4 Congress was an event not without any intrigue. First, delegates heard that the last of these candidates - Dennis Sviridenko - on hisown was removed from electoral race. The victory won Vitaly Ilyashenko (scored according to the quota of representation and the number of seats 22 votes to 38, and his opponent - Stanislaus Zozulia - were given 14 votes, 2 were spoiled ballot). First Deputy Chairman was elected Dennis Sviridenko. Deputy Chairman out of the results of election got Anna Rohovchenko . In the revised structure of organization government, except for five officers (Chairman, Deputy, Deputy, International Secretary, Head of Secretariat), were elected Catherine Korotchenko and Michael Shtokalo. Also the main board included Olga Belyahina and Julia Rudenko, who in the elections board received the same number of votes. In addition, on the Congress were elected members of the Audit Committee and Supervisory Board. After a rather passive and unsuccessful work of predecessors, the activities of their colleagues will monitor new activists. So CBC included Irina Vasylivetska (former member of the organization), Alexander Voitsekhivskiy (former head of the Kiev city center) and Vladimir Smolyakov (chairman of Luhansk regional branch). Now, monitoring each activity volume will be Vitali Klitschko - Chairman of the political party "Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform" (as agreed), Svyatoslav Oliynyk - Chairman of the political party "Future Ukraine" deputies of Ukraine, Oleksandr Ponomarev - People's Artist of Ukraine (by consent), Oleksandra Kostenko and Oleksandr Yarema - chairman of Kyiv "Reforms and Order Party." Europe hints the Ukrainian authorities that it is going to block the agreement about associations
On the 25th of November the next Congress of the European Liberal-Democratic Party for Reform (ELDR) took place in Palermo, Italy, where a new President was elected and a resolution concerning the collapse of democracy and freedom of speech in Ukraine was adopted almost unanimously. The Deputy of European Parliament from Great Britain ? Sir Graham Watson became the new President of ELDR. And resolution on the acceptance of Ukraine during the congress of one of the most powerful political parties in Europe happened due to the active work of the members of the European Youth of Ukraine, which has recently upheld the acceptance of this resolution at the congress of Liberal Youth of Europe (LYMEC), which took place in Barcelona. It seems that European liberals do still have some expectations from Ukrainian government. They demand drastic actions from the current Administration of our country to support its European choice. These demands are still the same: freedom of speech, no political prosecutions and no violations of human rights. The resolution runs "We appeal to the European institutions to remind the Ukrainian government of their obligations, such as introducing of honest, democratic and transparent democratic system". The Resolution also implies that: "The President Yanukovich himself was the reason of the criminal prosecution of the former members of government, the culmination of which became a heavy sentence of ex-prime-minister Yulia Timoshenko, which is politically grounded". Europe hints that what is happening today in the higher echelons of Ukrainian government puts in danger not only the acceptance and the subsequent ratification of agreement about association with EU, but also imposes taboo on the "European vector" of Ukraine for an uncertain period of time. Therefore ELDR plans to send to the next parliament elections in Ukraine a number of observers. Besides, according to the predictions of the experts, one more resolution should be adopted and more financial and political sanctions for our politicians in the European Parliament should be passed. From Ukraine at the congress in Palermo was present the administration of the political party "Ukraine of the Future" which initiated collaboration with the European Liberal Democratic Party for Reforms and declared about its intentions to enter this political family. The European party of Liberal Democrats and Reformers (ELDR) (founded in 1993) is a Liberal party, which acts within the EU. It is formed by liberal and centrist national parties of Europe. European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) is an international European association of youth founded in 1976 as a youth movement, which expands liberal values among young European citizens and is a branch of European Liberal Democratic Party for Reforms. LYMEC unites more than 210 thousand of young participants (91 organizations) from 39 European countries.

European Youth of Ukraine is against political prosecutions!
The All-Ukrainian Youth Liberal Organization «European Young of Ukraine» is extremely concerned by yesterday's court decision in the case of Yuliya Timoshenko (The Court of Pechersk district, Kyiv, Ulraine, 11.09.2011). The «European Young of Ukraine» expresses a disturbance that this decision will have a negative influence in providing a strategic goal of Ukraine: integration into the European Union: signing an agreement onassociation, a free trade zone and on simplification of visa arrangements between Ukraine and the EU in 2011, during the Polish Presidency of the EU, which has friendly relations with us. «European Young of Ukraine» will widely inform all of international partners on the situation surrounding the court decision in the case of Yuliya Timoshenko. We call upon all democratic countries of the world to adopt limited sanctions against those Ukrainian high-level officials, who commit gross violations of justice, fairness, and fundamental rights and freedoms of people and citizens. Furthermore, we will propose to support a resolution about reducing democracy and endangeringjustice in Ukraine on an ordinary Congress of the Liberal Young of Europe (LYMEC) –the youth wing ofEuropean Liberal Democrat and Reform Party.
